Hi everybody, today I am sharing with you my at-home workout routine. If I'm being completely honest, my "routine" is very inconsistent. Yes, I manage to workout 5 times per week but, no, it's not always in the morning or at any given time of the day. Moreso, it's when I can fit it in: Sometimes it's when I'm tired, or when I'm cozy, or when I'm unmotivated. Today I filmed and uploaded this video to my youtube channel (click the picture above to watch it)! The night before, I had gone to bed late unable to get my work done (kids) and then I woke up again at 3:30am to go downstairs and get more work done at the computer. By 6:30am, my kids were awake and I knew I had a limited time frame until my husband Ian went to work. Yes, on a Saturday; we are a hustlin' home! haha!
Reluctantly, I started. I even told Ian "It just doesn't FEEL good to highlight how I'm not fit yet and showcase it on the internet". No, I don't have to, but I know women struggle with this body image thing so I marched on into my workout room, camera in hand! And guess what...I felt soooo good! It woke me up, I felt pumped for the day, I had my music going, and I had my own room with a closed door! It was therapeutic to say the least! I even began to feel more confident, believe it or not, because I was able to have fun with the cinematic view of my mommy tummy. There's a little sarcasm in my slow motion shots heehee Believing that it's temporary and believing in yourself and your power to enhance it can be a game changer for your confidence and wellbeing. I say "enhance" instead of "change" because we don't need to "change" or "erase" the evidence of our children's journey through us. Our bodies tell a story and if some people choose to tell their story through tattoo art on their bodies then what's the difference if the story is told via scars and stretch marks, right?
I want anyone reading this to know that you shouldn't be fearful of beginning. Yes it will be tough and you need to be committed. Maybe you have more weight to lose than I do or maybe you don't care about looking a certain way but, rather, FEELING a certain way. Everyone begins once...sometimes more than once--and we can be that community with each other to cheer each other on! We are all different and the same and we can do this journey together! We ALL deserve to feel our best. Not lethargic, or tired, or grumpy, or weak. We deserve the best! Because when we feel our best, we can be the best moms to our kids, the best wives or girlfriends to our partners, and truly feel happy.
Until next time, Live It Well because you only live once!
